Aislinn Sarnacki is the editor of Act Out, a new section in the Bangor Daily News about outdoor recreation and nature. She's written for the Bangor Daily News since 2010, and has been an outdoor columnist since 2011, documenting hiking trails throughout the state. She's also the author of three hiking guidebooks, published by Down East Books. They are “Family Friendly Hikes in Maine” (2017), “Maine Hikes Off the Beaten Path” (2018), and “Dog-Friendly Hikes in Maine” (2019). In addition to writing, Aislinn takes photographs and produces videos to supplement her stories and columns.
Originally from Winterport, Aislinn graduated from the University of Maine in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and was awarded highest honors for her thesis on the health benefits of spending time outdoors.
Aislinn wrote a column called 1-Minute hikes which described short hikes, suitable for day trips, around many parts of the state. I'd read her 1-minute hike column regularly for possible outing ideas. So, I'm planning one asking about potential hikes within an hour of Bangor suitable for photographers with gear!
The meeting starts at 6:30 P.M. in the Senior Room at Bangor Parks and Rec, 647 Main Street, Bangor Maine. This meeting is free, and open to the public. Please join us and bring a friend.
